It is a good idea to skip the golf cart and walk the course when you are golfing. This gives you a bit of exercise where you can enjoy the sun and fresh air, improving your fitness while you have a bit of fun! Walking also prevents your muscles from getting cold, which can mess up your shots.
In any sport like golf your body plays a pivotal factor in your performance. You don’t just use your arms, you have to channel energy from your whole body for a source of true power. The force of your whole body should be used to swing the club. This allows you to increase your distance without placing unnecessary strain on your arms.
If you can, play with better golfers and learn from their techniques. There are a variety of ways you can learn from golfers more experienced than you. You don’t necessarily have to play them in order to reap these benefits. Be attentive of how they play and ask them questions about how they train.
One of the first things you need to learn about golf is the scoring rules. Because golf scores are often used as a way of judging a player’s skill level, it’s important to understand them. Count each time you hit the ball, call it a stroke, and add the times it takes to get it in the hole! The fewer strokes it takes, the better your score is.

One common way to make sure your feet are in alignment with where you want to hit the ball is to lay your club in a way that it is touching the toes on both your feet.
Hold your club with a neutral grip. If you grip the handle of your club too tightly, your shot will veer off towards the right. If you hold too loose, the ball will likely go to the left. Observe the ball after taking a shot. If you’re hitting too far to the right or left, adjust your grip accordingly.
Every golf club has a “sweet spot” – the point on the face where a ball struck with a good swing has perfect accuracy. Work with each of your clubs to find this “sweet spot.” Once you do, contact the ball with the club’s sweet spot right at the end of your downswing.
